But with Chiv 2, you’re still probably going to die fighting 1v6, but the blocking and combat is so much more “fun” that you’ll go down giving them a good fight. If 6 people gang up on you in Mordhau, you’re pretty much instantly dead unless you’re really good, which is understandable and realistic. Yes, technically speaking there’s more technique and skill involved with Mordhau’s blocking, but the parry-heavy blocking in Mordhau is too dark souls-y and doesn’t fit well with the rest of the gameplay imo. The chiv 2 blocking system is soooo much better than Mordhau or Chiv 1. One area in the combat that I think Chiv picked up where Mordhau dropped the ball is blocking. Chiv 2 made the gameplay less about cheesing hit boxes and doing all sorts of wacky shit with your mouse just to land a hit, and made it more about having lasting, involved, and fun fights. I love Mordhau, don’t get me wrong, but even as a veteran player I still think the game just has way too much sweat that it ends up being more competitive than fun (not saying you can’t just stock up on frying pans and go on a rampage). On a technical level, Chiv 2 doesn’t really hold a candle to Mordhau and you can really get lost in Mordhau’s combat but on pretty much every other front, Chiv 2 is an upgrade. I think Chiv 2 is the more fun (keyword) game.
